Bunk beds are certainly a classic favourite. Available as either single bunk beds, double, midi or study bunks. They are a great way for your children to sleep in comfort and save space.
Different types of bunk beds
There are various types of bunk beds for children. Each serves different purposes, these include traditional, high sleepers, mid sleepers and storage bunks.
Traditional bunk beds are generally wooden, these come with a ladder or steps to the top bed. Some designs come with a drawer under the bottom bunk which allows for extra storage.
High sleeper beds
Similar to the traditional bunk bed, the difference is the high sleeper is slightly taller approximately 30cm. This allows for more storage underneath the bottom bunk. With high sleeper beds, the bed at the bottom is at a right-angle therefore, it can also be used as a sofa bed during the day.
Mid sleeper beds
Mid sleepers are slightly shorter than traditional bunk beds. Instead of having two beds they have furniture generally below. Some come with pullout desks or cupboards, shelf units, drawers and even hanging rail in-turn giving you extra floor space within the bedroom.
Bunk Beds Selection...
Choosing the right bunk beds
When it comes to choosing the style, you need to consider your child’s needs and requirements. A wide choice of colours are available to help you find something which complements the bedroom. However, often natural colours can be the better option as they will go with any colour scheme as their tastes change. At a young age, these can change very quickly and you want a bunk bed which will last for the foreseeable future.
Another important factor which needs to be considered is the surrounding space and storage you require.
